Installation Notes
- Verify timing marks on both sprockets are properly aligned before installation. Marks should align with No. 1 cylinder at TDC on compression stroke.
- Inspect timing chain tensioner (9115) for proper function – replace if worn or damaged.
- Check crankshaft and camshaft keyways for damage before installing new sprockets.
- Torque camshaft sprocket bolt to 77 ft. lbs. (105 Nm).
- Torque tensioner bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm).
- After installation, rotate engine manually to verify proper timing alignment.
- Cloyes recommends replacing tensioner, sprockets, and guides when the chain is replaced, as these components play a vital role in system stability and accurate timing.
